How do solar street lights work?

Free energy from the sun

Solar powered street lights provide the same benefits as traditional grid-powered lights, enhancing safety, security, accessibility, and visibility on residential streets at night. The main difference is that solar powered street lights use energy from the sun to charge a lithium-ion battery which powers an energy-efficient LED light after dark.

Performance & Price

Solar powered LED street lights provide the same level of brightness as conventional grid-powered lighting and must comply with the same standards. However, solar powered street lights are more cost-effective to install and run with no electricity bills or CO2 emissions.
