1. Overview

Leadsun, Inc. ("Leadsun," "we," "us," or "our") manufactures and supplies off-grid solar lighting systems for commercial, municipal, and utility applications. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.

This policy applies to leadsun-us.com and to information we collect through our sales process, email programs, trade show activity, and customer support operations.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide directly

We collect information you submit when you request a quote, download a spec sheet or catalog, subscribe to our newsletter, register for a webinar, contact support, or speak with our sales team. This typically includes:

  • Name and job title

  • Business email address and phone number

  • Organization or agency name

  • Project location and site details

  • Project requirements you choose to share, including site plans, pole counts, photometric targets, and timelines

  • Any other information you include in a message to us

2.2 Information collected at trade shows and events

When you scan a QR code at our booth, hand us a business card, or allow your conference badge to be scanned, we collect the contact and organization information contained in that exchange and add it to our customer relationship management system.

2.3 Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our analytics providers automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location derived from it

  • Browser type, operating system, and device type

  • Pages viewed, time on page, scroll depth, and referring URL

  • Search terms that brought you to our site

  • Clicks, mouse movement, and navigation paths

2.4 Session recording and heatmaps

We use behavioral analytics tools that record how visitors interact with our pages. These tools capture mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and page navigation, and may reconstruct a visual playback of a browsing session. We configure these tools to mask text entered into form fields. We use this data to identify usability problems and improve the site. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

2.5 Information from third parties

We obtain business contact information from publicly available sources, professional networking platforms, industry directories, conference attendee lists, and third-party business data providers. We use this information to identify organizations that may have a use for solar lighting and to initiate business-to-business outreach. Information obtained this way is limited to professional contact details and organizational context.

2.6 Information we do not intentionally collect

We do not request or knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, government identification numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, health information, or information revealing racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or sexual orientation. Please do not send us this information.

3. How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to quote requests, technical questions, and support inquiries

  • Prepare project estimates, photometric layouts, and system sizing

  • Send spec sheets, catalogs, and other requested materials

  • Deliver our newsletter and other marketing communications you have opted into

  • Conduct business-to-business outreach about our products

  • Route inquiries to the appropriate sales representative, distributor, or manufacturer's representative

  • Fulfill orders, coordinate delivery, and provide warranty and service support

  • Understand which pages, campaigns, and materials generate interest

  • Improve our website, product documentation, and marketing

  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents

  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements

4. How We Share Information

We share personal information in the following circumstances:

Service providers. We use third-party vendors to operate our business, including customer relationship management and marketing automation platforms, email delivery services, website hosting and content delivery providers, web and behavioral analytics providers, and file storage services. These vendors process information on our behalf and are restricted from using it for their own purposes.

Sales channel. We share inquiry and project information with the manufacturer's representatives, distributors, and channel partners who serve your region so they can respond to your request.

Corporate affiliates. We may share information with affiliated Leadsun entities for order fulfillment, engineering support, and warranty administration.

Business transfers. If Leadsun is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Legal requirements. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, safety, or property.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

Strictly necessary. Required for the site to function, including security and load balancing.

Analytics and performance. Measuring traffic, understanding how visitors use the site, and identifying errors and usability problems.

Attribution. Recording which campaign, link, or advertisement brought you to our site so we can measure marketing effectiveness. This includes UTM parameters appended to links in emails, printed materials, QR codes, and social media posts.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site function.

Global Privacy Control. Where required by law, we honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

Do Not Track. Our website does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track signals.

6. Marketing Communications

If you receive marketing email from us, every message includes an unsubscribe link. You can also email us at the address in Section 12 to be removed. We will process opt-out requests promptly.

Unsubscribing from marketing email does not stop transactional messages related to an active quote, order, warranty claim, or service request.

If you provide a mobile number and consent to text messages, message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy.

  • Active customer and project records are retained for the life of the business relationship and for the duration of applicable product warranties, plus the period required by tax, accounting, and contract law.

  • Prospect and inquiry records are retained while the contact remains commercially relevant and are reviewed periodically for removal.

  • Marketing subscriber records are retained until the subscriber opts out, after which we retain a minimal suppression record to honor the opt-out.

  • Website analytics data is retained according to each analytics provider's standard retention period.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect personal information, including encrypted transmission, access controls, and vendor security review. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to us.

9. Your Privacy Rights

9.1 California residents

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, may give you the following rights:

  • Right to know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it

  • Right to delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions

  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information

  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information

  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information

  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law.

Categories of personal information collected in the past twelve months: identifiers (name, email, phone, IP address), commercial information (products and services inquired about or purchased), internet and network activity information (browsing and interaction data), professional and employment-related information (job title, employer), and geolocation data limited to approximate location derived from IP address.

Shine the Light. California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We do not make such disclosures.

9.2 Residents of other U.S. states

Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others, may have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising, sale of personal information, and certain profiling. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will provide written notice of the outcome.

9.3 Individuals in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom

If you are located in the EEA or UK, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

We process personal data on the basis of your consent, our legitimate interest in operating and marketing a business-to-business enterprise, the necessity of performing a contract, and compliance with legal obligations.

9.4 How to exercise your rights

Submit requests to the contact information in Section 12. We will verify your identity by matching the information in your request against our records and may request additional information if we cannot verify you. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission.

We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

10. Children's Privacy

Our website and products are directed to businesses, government agencies, and professional buyers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Additional Notices

Third-party links. Our site links to third-party websites, including our partner portal, social media profiles, and hosted documents. This policy does not govern those sites. Review their privacy policies separately.

International visitors. Leadsun is based in the United States and processes information here. If you access our site from outside the United States, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

Changes to this policy. We may update this policy from time to time. The Last Updated date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
